Repair Shop

SERVICES

Gunsmith

Our place was founded on the services we provide to our customers, whether it's getting guns ready to hunt, teaching safety, repairing guns, or answering questions, we are counted as one of the best in the business.

We are not perfect, we are perfectionists. We always do our very best to do what's right, regardless of time, or money. We will not compromise quality by taking shortcuts.

All guns brought in for repair are safety inspected, and test fired for correct operation before being returned. Customers are encouraged to perform their own test on one of our ranges before they leave. This insures that a malfunction that may occur later, is caused by improper ammunition, operator error, or improper maintenance, or lubrication. Note: These four causes are responsible for 90% of our repair work.

When a gun leaves Our Place it works like it should--Period! If it doesn't work for you, you are doing something wrong!

How long will it take?..... How much will it cost?....

"The Rest of the Story"

It's unwise to pay too much... but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money... that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.

In addition to the above services, we offer most types of general repairs. We can fix ALMOST any gun.

Note: Some guns CANNOT or SHOULD NOT be repaired for safety reasons.

We have a good supply of new, and used parts available, some of which are obsolete. We also build some parts when we have to.

Note: For safety concerns, most parts must be installed and/or fitted by us. (There are a few exceptions, tell us your needs)

We "farm out" some types of work to specialists, or give you referrals, some examples are: Stock refinishing, gun rebluing, rebarreling, or rechambering rifles.

We cannot possibly do everything, but we can help you find the best people in the "business" to suit your particular needs.

DELAYS

Reasonable turn-around time on gun work is good for customer relations, and great for our cash flow. Returning your guns in the shortest time possible is important to us. Our goal has always been 7 - 10 day returns on common jobs, the more complex the job, the longer the return time.

Our gun service policy is by priority. Recreational shooting, and hunting occur every month somewhere, and we schedule our work accordingly. We also do repairs and maintenance for several law enforcement officers.

Please understand our situation, and be patient with us, it's worth the wait.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, But what's taking so long?

How much work could YOU get done under these conditions?

The power goes out about once every other day, (we pay $500.00 a month for that privilege.) A customer walks in about once an hour, and needs to talk to the gunsmith about their gun, during that time, someone else calls to ask to talk to the gunsmith about their gun, then someone else calls to check on the status of their gun, and if that's not enough, a customer out on one of the ranges has a gun jammed, and needs a gunsmith to come out and look at it. Then, there's the guys that just want to chat awhile with the gunsmith. Parts from the factory are out of stock, or deleted. The phone is out, the computer is down, and someone is out sick.

GET THE IDEA?

Be patient, we're doing the best we can.

If you feel the need to call and "check" on the "progress" or "status" of your gun, (we consider this ploy to be harassment or an attempt at intimidation) it will cost extra, and delay the job. (It's much harder to work under stress!)

Remember: Patience IS a virtue, and DOES have its rewards.
